Members of the AMEE CPD Committee will provide an overview of the CME/CPD systems from their regional perspectives.  Participants will engage in a discussion comparing and contrasting the different regions, explore elements of the characteristics of those systems, and share their ideas of how characteristics might impact health care practice and system outcomes.

Members of the AMEE CPD Committee will provide an overview of the CME/CPD systems from their regional perspectives.  Participants will engage in a discussion comparing and contrasting the different regions, explore elements of the characteristics of those systems, and share their ideas of how characteristics might impact health care practice and system outcomes.

Educational Needs or Gaps to be Addressed:
Gap in knowledge regarding differences in CPD systems around the world and how those differences might impact practice and patient outcomes.
 
Aim/Learning Objectives:

Participants will be able to describe the major characteristics of CPD systems around the world and identify characteristics of those systems that might impact practice and patient outcomes.

Format and Interactivity:
Presentation with guided questions, polling, and Q&A.  Presenters will engage the audience in a dialogue regarding their own systems, benefits and drawbacks of different system types, and similar.

Anticipated Outcomes:
 Increased knowledge of the major characteristics of CPD systems that can impact practice and patient outcomes.
 
Target Audience:
Individuals working within and leading CPD systems.
